Dow Jones Sustainability Index
H&M Group has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for the seventh year in a row, ranking in the top 10% of global sustainability leaders. In 2019 we were also listed on the Dow Jones European Index for the first time.
Fashion Revolution Fashion Transparency Index
H&M Group was ranked among the top 5 in Fashion Revolution’s 2019 Fashion Transparency Index with a score of 61% (the highest scoring brands scored 64%) – up from 55% in 2018. While we’re proud of this leading position, the assessment also shows that there is more work to do for the entire fashion industry.
H&M Group retains its position as a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series. Companies in the FTSE4Good Index Series have met stringent social and environmental criteria and are positioned to capitalise on the benefits of responsible business practice.
Textile Exchange’s Material Insights Change
In the 2019 report, H&M Group leads the in the volume sourcing-rank of organic cotton and down, certified by the Responsible Down Standard. H&M Group is also recognized as one of the world’s biggest user of recycled cotton, recycled wool, recycled nylon and lyocell.
Carbon Disclosure Project Climate A-List
H&M Group is included in the Carbon Disclosure Project’s (CDP) 2019 Climate Change A List that recognises the world’s most pioneering companies leading on environmental transparency and performance.
H&M Group has been recognised for the ninth time by the Ethisphere® Institute as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies.
Corporate Knights 2020 Global 100
H&M Group has been ranked 27th in Corporate Knights’ annual ranking of the world’s most sustainable corporations, announced at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The Sustainable Cotton Ranking
The NGOs WWF, Solidaridad and PAN UK got together to assess how 77 companies score on their policy, traceability and actual uptake of sustainable cotton. H&M Group ranked third.
Stand Earth Fashion Scorecard
H&M Group was ranked third in environmental NGO Stand Earth’s Filthy Fashion Scorecard – an assessment of the climate commitments of 45 fashion brands. Brands were ranked according to a set of criteria ranging from emission reductions, renewable energy and supplier incentives.
Walking the Talk? Report
According to Stockholm School of Economics annual Walking the Talk? Report, which studies the sustainability communications of Sweden’s largest listed companies, H&M Group is among the best companies in “walking the talk”.
ASN Bank Living Wage Benchmark
As part of ASN Bank’s 2019 review of Living Wage in the Garment Sector, H&M Group was ranked as “leading” in four categories (Policy, Integrating Findings, Tracking Performance, and Transparency), with a total score as “maturing”, mostly due to further improvements needed in our remedy work.
Corporate Responsibility Reporting Awards
H&M Group was the winner of the Creativity in Communication category, and first runner-up in the Openness & Honesty, Relevance & Materiality, and Best Report categories in the Corporate Register CR Reporting Awards 2019.
PETA Vegan Homeware Awards
H&M Home was awarded the PETA Vegan Homeware Award for Best Wool-Free Rug for its 100% recycled cotton patterned rug from the Conscious Collection.
